Should Guys Wear Engagement Rings…

Food for thought! #myfauxdiamond

The New 95.7 The Spot

It was an article in Cosmo this morning about a girl who got engaged to a good “ole southern” Texas boy.

When she got the ring, she talked to him about what it symbolize and that it was she was his and going to be his forever and she wanted the same with him.

He was apprehensive at first but he did and they were engaged for 2 1/2 years and lived happily ever after.

PK is NOT on board with this because he said it’s about money. If she spends as much on the ring for him that he spends on her…then he’s all about it.

Sarah Pepper loves the idea! Because I know a ring won’t prevent you from cheating, nor should it, your soul should but I love the symbolism. I think it’s sweet 🙂

Evolution of the wedding dress

#myfauxdiamond

Exams and Wedding Plans

I am going to sound like a typical college girl, but I love following fashion trends and seeing what new styles are hot. Nine times out of ten, my tv is either on E Network or TLC’s What Not To Wear. Lucky for me, my guilty pleasure became my inspiration for today’s post. I wanted to trace the popular wedding dress styles and show how historical events affected the fashion (thank goodness the styles have improved!) Below I have included my favorite decades of wedding style and don’t forget to check out the link to view all the styles.

1930s

Weddings during the 1930s had a tricky time at buying a gown because of the Great Depression. Often the dresses were made from rayon (cheaper than silk) or women wore their nicest dress they already had.

1940s

Tips For Weddings On a Budget

#myfauxdiamond

Dress Haute Blog

If we could all afford weddings like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (the wedding that could have paid a student’s college tuition for 25,465 years), then we would all have amazing weddings. But who is to say you can’t have an amazing wedding without spending over $12 million? You absolutely can, and it’s even possible to do it on a slim budget like $2,000 or less.

Make a budget.

First things first, how much money are you (or your family, partner, etc) willing to spend? This should be the first thing you decide before you start planning your wedding. It doesn’t have to be exact, but it’s good to have this in mind when you are buying things, so there are no surprises.

Allocate parts of your budget.

Do you want fabulous photos, but don’t care as much about the decorations? Great, allocate more money into your photography fund. Or…
